Matte/clear LCD film (PDLC) is a modern film that changes its transparency under the influence of applied voltage. We refer to it as smart film, active film, or variable transparency film.

The change in the transparency of the film is possible due to the special layered structure of the LCD film with adhesive. One of the layers is a polymer matrix with a dispersed liquid crystal phase. Liquid crystals are anisotropic liquids, the properties of which can be controlled by voltage. In the basic state, the liquid crystals are disordered and the film is opaque (matte). Applying voltage orders the structure of the liquid crystals, making the film transparent. The change in the transparency of the film occurs immediately. The time it takes for the film to change transparency is imperceptible to the human eye.

The effects of the film can be seen in this video: https://youtu.be/u_p6pO57zmk

You can order small formats of the film from us. The suggested use is for experiments in schools (mainly physics lessons), for example, Rutherford's experiments.

It concerns 4 formats with dimensions of 15x20 cm. The sale is for the film only, without a power supply.
